Origami

She speaks in something just like Chinese origami
Twisting and shaping, confused, displacing
She's got a full time job with something on the side
It doesn't matter, got a free pass all the time

She's got a muffin shop, it stays open past nine
It's dark and sweaty; it's getting vandalized all the time
She's got a customer who's been coming through for years
He gets himself kicked out, man he don't speak Shakespeare

I'm not looking to get back
Don't want to have to dig two
I'm not looking to get back
Let Karma get to you (x2)

She's like my favorite little Japanese knot weed
Out in the open, but somehow gets around unseen
She's got it made; she's got it figured out
But every plant needs water man I think we're in the season of a draught, now

You know that little shop, it stays open all the time
With a neon sign so bright, that it must have made you blind
But every way you look, it's showing something new
And every single story's got an ending with a hero and a fool

I'm not looking to get back
Don't want to have to dig two
I'm not looking to get back
Let Karma get to you (x2)

Willy is 40

What do I need to know? When do I start to live?

And if it means what I think it means I guess I'd better get to living
I suppose I've kicked around for long enough

What do I need to know? When do I start to live?

And if the stars, they won't align
I'll have to double back and cut the line
I'm breaking off, from all my ties

What do I need to know? When do I start to live?

I know the starts, they won't align
And now I double back to look at the signs
I'm breaking off from all my ties

Has it always been so clear?
Has it always been so obvious but we just couldn't hear?
And has it always been so dull?
The sun blocked from day to day

Dr. Brox

Dr. Brox and his Bankers Box and his world filled with toys
Toys for me and toys for you, to help get you through
The day to night and the night to day
All I can say is that it's ok I don't know your answers and I don't know your questions
Why should I ever speak?

Searching through the garden for some souls today
To hide them away until the month of May
When I come out, out to play I'd like you all to join me then
When the colors are bright and everyone can see the light
You don't need to know the design You just got to know

Dr. Brox could you help me please
Dr. Brox I'm down on my knees
Dr. Brox could you help me to pave the way
Dr. Brox what's inside the box?

Dr. Brox and his Bankers Box and he's sitting up on the hill
Well he's watching the sunrise and watching the sun fall
As he goes down, down, down, down, down
He's a man you must believe, he's a guy that can truly see
You call him up anytime
You just got to know

Some people say he was all alone
Shifting tides and old alibis was his gold
So let these sounds take ya home
A home that's new to you

They're Calling for Ya

Consider the time that's spent in a day
Time to throw out like minutes for pay
Come on up man, come up and get down
And move it all around without making a sound

Your brain shorts out, you must tune in
It's something you need, about to begin
And all of the people line up like freaks
Everybody's talking, but nobody speaks

In this act you'll see it unfold
A little overdone, or so I'm told
With a beggars tale or a minstrel show
As long as the flow is funktional

But who told you to tell him to?
I think you're confused, did the message get through?
If anything's certain, if anything's true
It's that somebody's calling, they're calling for you

Now the world will spin as it will please
It won't take care, it won't lose sleep
And as it turns man we do too
For better or worse, now it's up to you
You're the talk of the town, the dunce and the crown
A million miles away, but you're hearing the sound
A message aloud, a call to the crowd
Somebody's calling, they're calling for you

Somebody's calling, somebody's calling for you

Strange Times

Strange times come to me, all my life it's all I see
All at once or not at all, some cars big, some cars small
I've been thinking, no more thinking, things get stranger if we're drinking
Chasing dreams chase the demo; chase the things that make you sane

Feel alright, I do today, whose strange thoughts are here to stay?
What's the purpose of your purpose, who decides, who decides
If I am, if you're not, thoughts don't ever seem to stop
Gravitating slowly to the center of the earth

I can't shut my brain off long enough to even see
That the simplest solution was there waiting just for me
Like a satellite subdued, like a picture in the clouds
All the logic in the world couldn't even help me now

Moving through the fog and haze, incoherent through the day
Colors moving, shaping twisting, turning till it's most displacing
From this view I can't relate, time and space control my fate
All in all it's nice I mean it's great I mean it's good

Through and through, all around, sometimes I can't make a sound
Someone left the door wide open, thoughts spilled out onto in the floor
If you feel like passing by, don't forget to ask me why
We're gravitating slowly towards the center of the earth

I can't shut my brain off long enough to even see
That the simplest solution was there waiting just for me
Like a satellite subdued, like a picture in the clouds
All the logic in the world couldn't even help me now
Because I can't stop, won't stop

I can't shut my brain off long enough to even see
That the simplest solution was there waiting just for me
Like a satellite subdued, like a picture in the clouds
All the logic in the world, couldn't even help me now
Help me now
Help me now

What's the Connection?

What's the connection?
Because I don't see it anymore
(Four/Five years been gone now)
What's the connection?
Because I don't feel it anymore

You can be wrong no matter which side you're on
It doesn't matter much, it doesn't matter much
Venture outside of what you think you know
There are so many places to go

Give me a call when/if you get back from outer space
Drop me a line when/if you crash on by

Aldehyde

Take a look inside the test tube, to see what's inside
Pull it out and put it on the plate
Little aldehyde

Another free man born just today, he's of the chemical kind
You think it would have been a slimy, sloppy situation, or that's the allegation
Knock knocks and ticking clocks is all that you hear
Inside your head!
Ya think it would have been a one-eyed seeing freak of nature
With its own unique form of nomenclature

Aldehyde you can't fool me Aldehyde you were born to be free

Throw it into the funnel then into the flask, and when the timing is right
You will see with your two eyes Little aldehyde

Well he ran for a hundred, million, billion miles, to find the answers
To the questions he had built up deep inside of him, like what it was to sin
Knock knock jokes and greenish smokes are of nothing that he knew
Poor aldehyde!
He ran through forests, deserts, valleys, mountains, swam through oceans
To find the devils potions

He was made in a laboratory, synthesized to be
One to see and one to be free, what else would you need
But he got bad and he lost his hair, and got a nasty burn
Aldehyde what do you do now

Warren in the Window

In the evening, when everyone else is inside
You're staring in the window
Waiting for a year to pass so you can come inside
But now it's alright
Cause' even with the strange demands, well they were all alright
And now it's all good-

I know you're out there
A hundred million people pass you by
And we know, that cause' you stayed around that you would live outside
And now it's alright
Cause' even with the strange demands, well they were all alright
And now it's all good-

You've got the right idea but you're out there in the world
And if the years won't pass in a big white flash, if you wait, you will be heard
Till then my friend, keep dancing like the spider monkey do
And someday we're gonna see you, from another point of view

We know you're out there Cause' all the crazy people walked on by
And you knew, that if you stayed around that you could live outside
And if it's alright
Cause' even with the strange demands, well they we're all alright
So now we're all good

You've got the right idea but you're out there in the world
And if the years won't pass in a big white flash, if you wait, you will be heard
Till then my friend, keep dancing like the spider monkey do
And someday we're gonna see you, from another point of view
